Town Again Set to Be Unchanged for Trip to Cardiff Fri 14th Oct 2011 14:10
Town are expected to field the same starting XI for the fifth successive match for the first time since 1998 when they visit Cardiff on Saturday. Blues boss Paul Jewell will be looking for his side to win their fourth consecutive game on Bluebirds territory and record their sixth victory on the trot over the Welsh side at all venues.

Town suffered their second heavy defeat of the Easter period as Swansea ran out comfortable 4-1 winners at the Liberty Stadium. Fabio Borini put the home side in front on nine, Luke Moore adding the second before Colin Healy pulled one back for the Blues. Borini netted his second before the break and Scott Sinclair completed the scoring with a second half penalty.

Grant Leadbitter netted twice, the second a penalty, and Connor Wickham once as the Blues drew 3-3 at home to Middlesbrough. Leadbitter put the Blues in front early on, but two goals in a minute just before the break from Andy Halliday and Scott McDonald saw the visitors into a surprise lead. Boro extended their lead after the restart via Andrew Taylor but Connor Wickham and then Leadbitter from the spot levelled with both teams having opportunities to win it late on.

Skipper David Norris netted his fifth goal of the season but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Blues from falling to a 2-1 defeat at Watford. Town had been the better side up to a two-goal Hornets salvo just before the break and got back on top in the closing stages after Norris’s goal but were unable to grab the equaliser.

Skipper David Norris was Town’s saviour once again as his extra time goal saw the Blues to a 1-0 Carling Cup victory over Crewe at Gresty Road. Norris struck in the 102nd minute to put Roy Keane’s side into the third round.
